The Natural Color Diamond Association (NCDIA) has recently launched a new educational program, entitled "How to Sell Natural Color Diamonds", in order to help retail jewelers teach staff members about natural color diamonds, or fancy diamonds.
The program was presented at the American Gem Society Conclave in April 2007 in Denver. Prior to the seminar all attendees were asked to complete a survey that revealed that natural color diamonds are a growing product category for retailers and are an increasingly important component of their inventories.
The education program was divided into three parts: The first provided an introduction to natural color diamonds, the second introduced several selling strategies, and the third provided a review and additional information on black, blue, brown, gray, pink and yellow diamonds.
