Shine on you Crazy Diamond

The annual glam fest for those in the music industry, The Grammy Awards, is an event not known for restraint. From the designer bodies to the designer gowns, the Grammys is the place to see and be seen. The Grammys is also a place where trends are set – and woes betide those not keeping up with the Klumes’.

The relatively recent trend of jewelry embellished with fancy color diamonds only seems to be getting stronger, with drop earrings and cuffs being the accessory du jour, and black diamonds featuring prominently.

It seems as though the eternally classy Heidi Klum has a thing for all that glitters. Her yellow diamond stud earrings perfectly complemented her gold sequined gown.

Perhaps the star of the diamond show though was Lea Michele with her “Lovebirds” cuff (pictured below). Designed by Lorraine Schwartz, the blackened platinum cuff features 200 carats of black diamonds, sapphires, rubies, and emeralds. They were accompanied by platinum earrings embedded with 30 carats of black diamonds. Who needs a little black dress when you can have a lot of black diamonds?

Not to be outshone was Kim Kardashian with her Lorraine Schwartz yellow diamond and platinum snake cuff (pictured below).

Come to think of it, probably the biggest star of the night was Lorraine Schwartz and her bevy of colored diamonds. Check out Selena Gomez (pictured below) with her Lorraine Schwartz champagne and white diamond earrings.

However, Lorraine Schwartz definitely had some competition in the design stakes from Loree Rodkin and her red carpet ambassador Eva Longoria (pictured below). Eva’s multi-diamond chandelier earrings featured brown, champagne, cognac, and grey diamonds. Stunning!

Perhaps more demure was Kimberley Caldwell (pictured below) in her classic studs with black diamond centers.
